5 Basic Swimming Pool Maintenance Measures You’ll Need To Know

1. Use a Skimmer Net

Start by vigorously rinsing it with a garden hose if the cartridge is not harmed. Clean it with a commercial filter cleaner or soak it overnight if the filter already looks gross. Substitute or lubricate an O ring until the filter is empty. Using the cap to clean the cartridge and refill it. Remember to to resume normal flow and filtration.
DE Filter: To clean your DE filter, wear gloves and a face mask. Backwash the system, turn the pump off and remove the system from the air. To let water drain from the filter, open the drain plug. Open the filter tank and the tank is rinsed clean. Then check for injury, rinse off the manifold and filter grids. Clean with an industrial cleaner or soak overnight if the manifold or grids are already dusty. The O ring is removed or lubricated and the manifold and the grids are returned to the tank. Build a slurry of DE and water following the directions of your producer. Switch the pump on and the machine releases oxygen. Pour the slurry into the pool skimmer within 60 seconds.
5. Keep the Pool Deck Clean
